Applications
Alpha Arbutin can be considered for skin-brightening face creams and body lotions, subject to the applicable concentration limits and safety assessment.
It is not recommended for conventional high-pH soap formulations without specific compatibility and stability evidence.
How to Formulate
Dissolve Alpha Arbutin in a suitable portion of the formula’s water phase. For hot-process emulsions, incorporate during cooling, preferably below 40°C, following the raw material supplier’s instructions.
A final formulation pH of approximately 4.5–6.5 can be used as a development target, subject to the supplied grade’s technical specifications. Confirm pH, stability and compatibility in the finished formula.
For EU-market products:
- Face creams: Maximum 2%.
- Body lotions: Maximum 0.5%.
These limits should not be applied automatically to other product categories. Hydroquinone impurities must remain as low as possible and must not exceed unavoidable trace levels.

Returns & Refunds for Physical Products
